Approved by the FDA in June 2006, Juvederm ™ is a non-surgical, injectable gel used to restore the skin’s volume and provide correction of wrinkles and nasolabial folds. From the creators of Botox ® Cosmetic, Juvederm ™ is considered a “next generation” injectable; it is a dermal facial filler made of a smooth consistency gel that is composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

Length:  Approximately 15 minutes, depending upon number of injections required to correct the target areas.

Results:  Juvederm ™ has shown to maintain corrective results for an average of six months. Some patients have experienced a longer-lasting effect. Additional injections and touch-ups may be requested to achieve optimal correction. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance, it will gradually absorb into the body.

Procedure:  Once you and your health care professional identify the areas targeted for correction, he/she will ease Juvederm ™ into the injection sites at the mid to deep dermis (beneath the surface of the skin). The smooth consistency of Juvederm ™ allows the injection to be administered with relative ease.

Recovery:  Immediate results; little to no downtime.

Side Effects:  Redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. Most reactions will subside in seven days or less.
