What Is DOT Therapy?
Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) therapy is used to treat frown lines, wrinkles, age spots, and other skin imperfections. The DOT CO2 fractional laser combines the strengths of CO2 laser technology and fractional laser technology. Conventional CO2 lasers are very effective at resurfacing and rejuvenating skin, but usually require a long recovery period. Conventional fractional treatments are less invasive and painful, but their results are often not as noticeable because the fractional laser doesn’t penetrate as deeply into skin. DOT therapy combines these two technologies into one procedure that offers both exceptional results and minimal downtime.
The DOT CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment
To complete DOT laser skin care therapy, our Tulsa, Lakeway, and Round Rock medical professionals gently guide the laser over the targeted treatment area. The laser beam penetrates through the epidermis into the underlying layers of skin, stimulating the production of collagen and encouraging newer, smoother, and firmer skin to form.
