Laser Skin Resurfacing in Tulsa, Lakeway, Round Rock

Laser skin resurfacing can address a number of facial imperfections including deep lines, wrinkles, scarring, and uneven pigmentation. At our Face and Body locations, serving Tulsa, we use CO2 fractional lasers to restore and rejuvenate the skin. The CO2 fractional laser is one of the latest advances in laser technology, and is quickly gaining popularity among our patients. The laser is intended for one to two-time use, as opposed to the Fraxel® laser, which requires up to five uses to achieve the desired results. Learn more about laser skin resurfacing with the CO2 fractional laser by contacting our offices serving Tulsa, Lakeway, and Round Rock. We would be happy to help you schedule a consultation.

The Goal of Laser Skin Resurfacing
Treatment with the CO2 Fractional Laser

The Goal of Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing uses light energy to strip away layers of damaged skin. The procedure, generally performed on an outpatient basis using local anesthetic, stimulates the production of collagen; and upon healing, damaged skin cells are replaced with fresh, healthy cells. Laser skin resurfacing should always be performed by a board-certified physician. The Face and Body practice locations are run by trained medical professionals, including cosmetic dermatologists, with years of experience performing laser skin resurfacing. Our physicians can help patients to decide what type of procedure will best meet their skin's needs, and what kind of laser to employ during treatment.

CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

The carbon dioxide (CO2) fractional laser is generally used with patients who have deep facial lines or scarring. The CO2 laser can be adjusted to provide a mild peel, or full skin ablation. Our medical professionals use different strengths to target different areas of the face, customizing the treatment based on need. This flexibility is a notable advantage over other types of lasers. The CO2 laser also allows the physician to make more precise, predictable movements than other facial treatments.

During treatment, fractional lasers direct tiny pulses of light at the skin in a pattern, leaving patches of skin untreated. This helps to cut downtime and aid in recovery. The treated skin produces new collagen, while the untreated skin helps the area to heal faster.

After treatment with the CO2 laser, the skin will heal for about 7 to 10 days. During this time, it's important to keep skin hydrated and refrain from wearing any makeup. Even after healing, the skin will be a pinkish color for several months, and should be fully protected from any sun exposure with a strong sun block.
