Cellulite affects men and women of all sizes and weight. Unfortunately, it cannot be eliminated through diet or exercise, much to the chagrin of those who live with it. However, the maker of a facial treatment that tightens and tones skin through renewed collagen growth has released a new system which is able to tighten and tone the skin on other areas of the body. Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Thermage® has developed a cellulite reduction treatment: a noninvasive, convenient way to smooth puckered or dimpled skin on the thighs, abdomen, hips, and other areas. Learn more about this safe, effective treatment, and contact Face and Body, serving the Tulsa area, to schedule an appointment for Thermage® cellulite treatment.
What Is Thermage® Cellulite Removal?
What Is the Thermage® Treatment Like?
What Are the Benefits of Thermage®?
Though it first emerged on the market as a treatment for the reduction of facial wrinkles, Thermage® is now an FDA approved cellulite treatment. It is a one-time, non-surgical system that uses deep heating radiofrequency energy to smooth, tighten, and contour areas of the body such as the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.
Thermage® uses radiofrequency energy to heat the deepest layers of the skin (the dermis), while cooling the outer layers of the skin (epidermis) to prevent burning and irritation. The deep heating causes the existing collagen fibers to contract, and stimulates the growth of new collagen. Thermage® cellulite treatment improves the tone and texture of the skin as new collagen is produced, for long-lasting results.
At Face and Body, with offices serving Round Rock, Lakeway, and Tulsa, we use both the Thermage® handpiece and the Smartlipo™ laser to reduce the appearance of cellulite. The Smartlipo™ system heats and liquefies fat cells with a special cannula containing a small laser fiber. Once the fat is liquefied, we return to the area with the Thermage® handpiece, which smoothes out any cellulite by heating the deep layers of the dermis and tightening the collagen. The treatment is not painful, although some patients experience a slight reddening or flushing of the skin afterward. Our physicians recommend using sunscreen to protect treated skin.
Everyone will see different results, depending on their age, the condition of their skin, and their degree of skin laxity. However, patients generally enjoy tighter, firmer skin and a reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
When performed at one of Face and Body's locations in the Tulsa area, Thermage® cellulite treatment requires no injections and no general anesthesia. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and patients experience little to no downtime. Patients are able to return to work or family responsibilities the same day or the next day. Since the heating technology stimulates the production of new collagen over several months, patients will continue to see firm, smooth skin as a result.
If you're looking for a non-surgical way to reduce the appearance of dimply skin, consider Thermage® cellulite treatment offered to our Tulsa, Lakeway, and Round Rock patients. If you're interested in this innovation in body contouring, contact Face and Body today for an appointment.

The winner will have their tattoo removed, free of charge, at one of our locations. Learn more about our monthly patient contests here.
